Randallstown High School Field 4:
Game 1: Sky & Sky Inc. 11 (WP-Larry Newman 3-5) Stingers 5 (LP-Darron Tabatznik 2-4)

Stingers and Sky & Sky met for the first time this year and made the best of it. Alan Friedman was given the day off as he became to proud father of a baby girl. Congrats to Alan.

Larry Newman took the hill for Sky & Sky and Darron Tabaznik for the Stingers. Each would leave the first inning at nothing all. A Mike Beverly single got things rolling followed by a few errors by Sky & Sky to get him across to plate one. Sky & Sky would return the favor in the b-2nd with timely hitting and a few errors by Stingers as well to plate two. In the b-3rd, Stingers opened with a single from Soco, followed by Palo’s double and Murph’s to put runners on the bags. Beverly did his deed, but it would be short lived as the Stingers bats would be directed directly into the gloves with some snazzy plays of Sky & Sky. After three, it was 5-3 Sky & Sky.

Sky & Sky would add a few more insurance runs in the b-4th, but the Stingers would chip away at the deficit they had with two of their own as Beverly blasted a double into left center to make it an 8-5 Sky & Sky game. In the 5th Newman took control and shut down the resilient effort of the Stingers with help from his outfield to close the game with a win, 11-5.

Game 2: Sky & Sky Inc. 11 (WP-Larry Newman 4-5) Stingers 10 (LP-Darron Tabatznik 2-5)

Game 2 would bring a new day as Tabatznik would put everything he head into to game 2 against the younger Newman. Stingers would open up with a two spot after shutting down Sky &Sky. Tim Palo had a massive triple to plate Soco. With Murph on base along with Palo, Aaron Shiffrin would give a SAC to plate Palo.

In the b-2nd after holding off Sky and Sky with runners in position, Stingers opened with Lee Densky’s massive triple followed by a key walk from Brad Starobin and a Tabatznik single to help his cause. With runners in the t-3rd. Sky & Sky would come within one to make it a 6-5 Stingers game. Each team would blank in the fourth.

It would not be until the seventh inning when things would get interesting. With the Stingers up by one, Sky would face the Stingers with all they had. Placing deep shots into the left side of the Stingers outfield, and a massive over the head homerun to take the lead. Signers would battle back with a monster home run from Mike McGee, but would fall short in a back and forth day for both teams.

Deer Park Middle School Field 2:
Game 1: Kings 17 (WP-Chuck Grant 9-4)  L.O.F.T. 0 (LP-Kory Rosenberg 0-6)  5 Innings

Highlights pending.

Game 2:
L.O.F.T. 5  (WP-Andy Peksa 3-5)  Kings 4 (LP-Chuck Grant 9-5)

After taking an absolute beating in game 1 L.O.F.T. did not pack up and leave. Andy Peksa toed the rubber for L.O.F.T. and looked to get back to his winning ways on the mound. The game began as a pitchers duel, as both pitchers only gave up a few hits and no runs through the first 3 innings. In the top of the 4th with the bases loaded Kory Rosenberg ripped a double over the Left Fielder driving in 3 runs for L.O.F.T. The Kings bounced back plating 1 in the bottom of the 4th to cut the lead to 3-1 after 4 innings. In the top of the 5th with Mike Bowen on 1st base Dan Mabry hit a shot over the Left Fielders head and rounded the bases for a 2 run inside the park Home Run. Peksa came back out in the bottom of the 5th and shut the Kings down holding the lead to 5-1 after 5 innings. L.O.F.T. was unable to score anymore runs in the top of the 6th and the Kings were able to plate 2 cutting the lead to 5-3 after 6. L.O.F.T. was unable to tack on any insurance runs and had to come out in the 7th with a 2 run lead. The Kings plated 1 run and had a runner on 1st with 1 out when Ryan Mente caught a line drive and doubled up the base runner at 1st to secure the win. Needless to say the Kings were shocked at the outcome of the game and L.O.F.T. was excited to finally show the league they have vastly improved from year 1 to year 2. Andy Peksa pitched a gem for L.O.F.T. spreading 8 hits and 4 runs over 7 innings of play to earn his 3rd win of the season.
