Pikesville Middle School Field #3
Legal Papers Inc. vs Havana Club Cannons
Game 1
Legal Papers- 10  Havana Club Cannons- 9 (8 Innings)
WP- Ted Winner   LP-Mark Yokel
Game 1 was a classic.  The Cannons wasted no time getting on the board with 2 runs in the first highlighted by a triple off the bat of Evan Kreitzer.  Legal Papers answers back with two of their own with a single from Eric Ruby and a double from Donnie "Du Rag" Herrod.   With runners on 2nd and 3rd Bob Hansen hits a line drive base hit to plate 2.  2-2 after 1 inning.  It was a see-saw battle going into the bottom of the 6th with the Cannons leading by the score of 7-6.  With 2 outs Legal Papers needed some magic.  They got it as Eric Ruby used his "magic wand" to belt a game tying homerun.  7-7 after 6 innings of play.  The Cannons were held scoreless in their half of the 7th, despite loading the bases with just 1 out.  In the bottom of the 7th Legal Papers had the bases loaded with only 1 out, but were unable to score.  Rob Isennock tripled  to rightfield to open the t-8th inning, but stayed there for two outs before Jeff Robbins and Ernie Stephenson had clutch hits.  Down 2 going into the bottom half of the 8th Legal Papers needed some more magic.  David Michaelson leads off with a base hit up the middle. Eric Ruby strides to the plate with one down and venom in his eyes.  The restricted flight balls made no difference to him as he crushed his 2nd homerun of the game to tie it 9-9.  Donnie "Du Rag" Herrod, not to be outdone,  hits a Solo Jack of his own for a walk off homerun.

For Legal Papers, hitting stars were Eric Ruby (4-4, 2 CLUTCH GAME TYING HR'S, 3 RBI, 3 R), - Donnie Herrod (2-4, 2B, HR, 2 RUNS, RBI), Bob Hansen (2-2), and Ken Zalis (3-4, 2B, 2 R). For the Cannons, Gerry Edelman and Ernie Stephenson(3-4, 2B, 2 RBI) had three hits apiece, while Jeff Robbins had two hits and scored three runs while playing a very good shortstop.

Game 2
Havana Club Cannons- 11  Legal Papers Inc-  6
WP- Jeff Robbins   LP-Marty Ellis
Game 2 was a scene from Michael Jackson's Thriller video.  Legal Papers were absolutely the walking wounded.  There were approximately 3 healthy players in their lineup which didn't help matters with an unhappy Cannons team looking for a little redemption. Game two brought out some character from the Cannons as they were in danger of being swept. Armed only with wheelchairs and crutches, Legal Papers managed 1 run in the top half of the first on a sacrifice fly from Donnie "Du Rag" Herrod.  Cannons answered and then some with 3 of their own in the bottom of the first.  This was highlighted by a 2 RBI triple off the bat of Johhny Edelman and an RBI single from Eisenoch.  Legal Papers scored 1 in the 2nd, 1 in the 3rd, and 1 in the 4th to bring the score to 4-3 with the Cannons waiting in their half of the inning to "bust out the whopping stick".  And bust it out they did scoring 8 runs on 9 hits.  Marty Ellis must have had the rock band, The Scorpions in his ear, cause he was Rocked Like A Hurricane. (No Offense Marty). This inning was a complete disaster for Legal Papers defensively commiting 3 errors.  The game was quiet after that with Legal Papers scoring only 2 more times for the final score of 11-6. Jeff Robbins got the win in relief of Andy Winick.

Hitting Highlights:
CANNONS - Jeff Kurland (2-3), Rob Eisennoch (2-3, RBI), Johnny Edelman (2-3, 3B, 2 RBI), Jeff Robbins (2-4, 2 R), Steve Henneman (2-4).
LEGAL PAPERS - Eric Ruby (2-4, 2B, 3B, 2 R),  Donnie Herrod (2-3, 2 RBI, 2B).

Pikesville Middle School Field #4
Attman's Deli vs Sky & Sky Inc
Game 1
Attman's Deli- 12  Sky & Sky Inc- 4
WP-  Bruce Eisenberg    LP- Marc Leibovitz
It was a day of first inning rallies for Attman's which proved to be a force. Sky & Sky's first batter singled but was nabbed at 2nd trying to stretch the base knock. After two more quick outs Attman's hitters came with their bats and Wheaties as 5 of the first 6 batters singled. Add 2 more hits, 2 errors, a misplayed fly ball, and 7 runs in total came across to score. In the meantime Eisey was shutting down the Sky & Sky offense, only having pitched to 15 batters through 4 innings. Attmans' bats also slowed down as the teams each exchanged 2 runs in the 3rd, but Eisey basically stayed in control throughout as Sky & Sky added a run in the 5th and 7th. Attman's never relinquished their 7 run lead adding 1 each in the 4th, 5th and 6th. The final score ended 12-4 as Bruce Eisenberg pitched an excellent game keeping the hitters off balance for his 8th win of the season, while Mark Leibovitz was saddled with the loss. Hitting stars for Attman's were Dave Sandler 2-3 (3B, 1B, BB, 3 runs), Ricky Farley 2-3 (2 1B, SF), Brian Wolf 2-3(2B, 1B), Andy Rosenthal(3B) and Bruce Eisenberg also each went 2-3. For Sky & Sky, Scott Felton did chip in 2 singles.

Game 2
Attman's Deli- 12  Sky & Sky Inc- 11
WP-  Bruce Eisenberg    LP- Larry Newman
Again Attman's came out swinging in their half of the first as they batted 14 hitters and scored 10 runs. Robbie Ressin's double was the only extra base hit in the inning as 7 singles, 2 walks and 2 errors helped put the game seemingly out of reach. In the Sky & Sky half of the first Brian Sky singled in 2 to chip away at the lead. But then the tide started to turn, Attmans' bats fell silent for the next 3 innings while Sky & Sky had a big 3rd inning. Brian Kowitz hit a 3 run homer to right center and Alan Smith tripled in 1. Alan Friedman knocked another one in as 5 crossed in the inning which seemed to rejuvenate Sky & Sky. In the 4th, a rare Attman's error eventually cost them one run as Brian Kowitz doubled and Scott Felton doubled 2 more in. Two more singles and Sky & Sky had their first lead of the day. In the t-5th an error by Sky & Sky allowed 1 run to score and tie the ballgame after 5. In the 6th a leadoff single and good base running by Scott Moffett lead to Attman's pulling ahead by 1. In the 6th Sky & Sky had a golden opportunity with their leadoff man getting on and eventually loading the bases with Brian Mekiliesky up and just 1 away. He scorched the ball to Brian Wolf at SS who turned the double play to end the threat. In the b-7th Sky & Sky got the tying runner to 2B, but was unable to convert as the final score ended 12-11.

Hitting stars for Attman's were Scott Moffett, Ricky Farley, Brian Wolf and Paul Bell all going 2-4 with 2 singles. Robbie Ressin was aslo 2-4 with a double. Hitting stars for Sky & Sky were Steve Truitt 3-4 (SF), Brian Kowitz 4-4 (HR, 3 2B,3 RBI, 3 runs), Brian Sky 3-4 (2B, 2 1B, 3 RBI).

Pikesville Senior High Field #5
Palmgard vs Orbin Publishing
Game 1
Palmgard- 5  Orbin Publishing- 1
WP- Larry Hineline  LP- Gary Schoengold
Larry Hineline improved his record to 4-0 as Palmgard defeated Orbin Publishing 5-1 in the opener.

Game 2
Orbin Publishing- 10  Palmgard- 9
WP- Gary Schoengold  LP- Mike Johnson
The second game was a dog fight to the final out.  Palmgard jumped on top with one run in the bottom of the first.  Orbin responded with two runs in the top of the second on hits by Mark Rifkin, Josh Vieth, and Aaron Pearlman, along with some timely base running.  But in the bottom of the third, Palmgard exploded for five runs.  Orbin answered with one in the sixth on an RBI single from Carl Galler, and two more in the sixth.  But Palmgard came right back in the bottom of the sixth with two runs on the only home run of the day, for a three run lead. In the top of the seventh, loaded the bases for Greg Teague, who cleared them with a three run double.  Greg scored on Jamie Lubliner's double, and Jamie scored on Justin Ott's triple.  Justin was thrown out on a close play at the plate trying to stretch the triple into a four-bagger. Palmgard did not quit.  With one out in the bottom of the seventh they scored a run and loaded the bases.  The threat ended with a force at the plate from Justin Ott to Carl Galler and a ground out to the winning pitcher Gary Schoengold.
