Attman's Deli  vs  Havana Club Cannons
Game 1
Attman's Deli  11  Havana Club Cannons  5
Attman's Deli clinched the regular season championship with a convincing 11-5 win over the 2nd place Cannons. Tom Paulshock, who pitched three games in an Ocean City tournament just the day before was mostly ineffective and unable to throw strikes.  Down 3-0 after the top of the 1st, Attman's sliced into the lead early and took control in the 4th thanks in part to 4 walks. With the Cannons leading 3-2 into
the bottom of the fourth, Paulshock walked four consecutive batters, resulting in a 4 run inning. With exactly one hit in that inning, Attman's was able to take a lead they did
not relinquish. The game was then put out of reach with a 5-run 5th, culminated by a Brian Wolf 3-run homer. Dave Sandler contributed a key 2-out bases loaded single in the 4th inning, which put Attman's ahead for good. Bruce Eisenberg, the steady one, won his 21st game. Evan Kreitzer doubled and tripled for the Cannons in game one

Game 2
Attman's Deli  18  Havana Club Cannons  7
With the regular season title already claimed, Attman's shuffled its players around in the field and dominated the Cannons in a rain soaked 18-7 win. The Cannons put previously undefeated Jeff Robbins on the hill, but Attman's batted 14 players and scored 11 runs in the 2nd inning en-route to the blow out. Don Herrod homered, doubled and singled driving in 4 runs on the day. Paul Bell delivered a 3-run homer and Brian Wolf knocked in 2 runs. Bruce Eisenberg won his 22nd game. Cannons Evan Kreitzer singled and homered giving him a cycle for the day. Jim Peterson had a three run homer. The Cannons finished the regular season in second place.

Legal Papers Inc.  vs  Schaefer & Strohminger
Game 1
Legal Papers  7  Schaefer & Strohminger  6
Both Schaefer & Stroh  and LPI got the game started in the 3rd inning. S & S took lead in , but  LPI answered with leadoff singles from Marty Ellis and Mark Cucina, then 3 consecutive doubles by Dave Kopel, Marc Summerfield and Jeff Sacks ending the scoring 5-1.  Schaefer & Stroh added 2 more runs in t-4th inning.  LPI was silent and just waiting for a reason to start scoring, so LPI answered in the t-7th with a 2B by Ellis, triple from Cucina, single from Kopel which made the score 7-3.  Schaefer & Stroh threatened in the b-7th. 2 lead-off singles and a triple by Rich Northrup. A Larry Henderson sac fly made the score 7-6, but Ellis was able to get the last out for the win.

Game 2
Legal Papers  15  Schaefer & Strohminger  3 (5 Innings)
Schaefer & Strohminger in the t-1st scored 3 runs with a single from Mark Yokel, walk  to Larry Henderson and a homer from Bobby.  LPI's Marc Summerfield doubled, but was left on second base.  Schaefer & Stroh  did not score any more runs the rest of the game, with only a single in the 2nd inning from John Blum, a single in the 3rd from Henderson and a single in the 5th from Blum and Jeff Harris.  LPI scored 5 times in b-2nd to take a 5-3 lead. Key hits were a Bob Hansen double, Larry Proper RBI single, and Kevin Oliner single.  In b-3rd inning, Shifrin, Oliner, Bondroff singled, Cucina blasts a triple and Kopel doubles adding 5 more runs ending the inning with the score 10-3. In b-4th inning, the bottom of the order comes through again with 2-outs--Eric Ruby doubles, Oliner singles, then Bondroff blasts a triple into center field. The inning ends with LP ahead 13-3.  LPI closed out the game in the b-5th inning with Summerfield, Sacks and Feldman singling.  Hansen hits a routine ground ball to 3rd baseman Mark Yokel. The ball scoots off Yokel's glove to SS Rosenstein who tosses the ball WITH HIS GLOVE HAND past the 3rd baseman ending the game early at 15-3.  Kevin Oliner got the win while S&S rookie Jeffrey Harris took the loss.

Sky & Sky Inc  vs Pro Med
Completion of Suspended Game
Sky & Sky 9- Pro Med 3
WP- Larry Newman LP Chuck Grant
Sky & Sky met Pro Med at the high school as each team faced three opportunities to improve their playoff slotting.  Continuing a game which was suspended back on July 2nd, Sky & Sky resumed play with a 6-1 lead in the home half of the fifth.  Having to scramble to fill in a line-up for missing players from that suspended game, Sky's line-up featured such one-time oddities as Alan Friedman in the leadoff slot and Brian "Sky" Mekiliesky (the clean-up hitter) batting last.  They did not allow the makeshift line-up to muzzle their bats, as they struck for three quick runs in the b-5th.  Alan Smith tripled home two and Eric Gertner doubled him in.  Pro Med went quietly in their remaining two at-bats allowing Sky & Sky to make up one half game in the standings.  Larry Newman got the win and Chuck Grant took the loss

Game 1
Pro Med  9  Sky & Sky Inc. 8 (8 Innings)
WP- Chuck Grant    LP- Larry Newman
Game 1 of the scheduled doubleheader seemed to continue from the same place where the suspended game ended.  Brian Sky collected an RBI single in the first.  Sky & Sky exploded for 4 runs in the second.  Scott Felton started the second off with a solo shot despite claiming that he was "a little sick from the previous evening's activities".  Aric Spitulnik doubled home two more, and David Kowitz doubled him home.  Pro Med pitcher Chuck Grant averted a truly disastrous inning by inducing Andy Bloom to ground out with the bases loaded.  Alan Smith collected another RBI in the third for Sky & Sky, and Brian Kowitz singled home one in the fourth.  Meanwhile Sky's pitcher Larry Newman was quietly cruising along,  throwing a one-hitter through five innings.  Sky & Sky's bats also went dormant for several innings, but this game seemed to be in the bag for Sky & Sky.  Scott Felton doubled home a seemingly needless insurance run in the t-7th.  However, somebody forgot to pass along the news to Pro Med that this game was basically over.  Down seven runs, Pro Med's leadoff batter was quickly retired.  Then Brad Rosenberg popped a HR into deep LCF.  Two hits and a walk later, and suddenly Pro Med was making some noise.  Aaron Shifrin managed to reach base on an error and cut the lead in half in the process.  Kenny Zalis singled home one as did Alan Varhaftik.  Mike Merritt, the batter and would-be winning run, strolled to the plate and blasted a shot into LF.  He was held at third base with a one out triple.  With the winning run 60 feet away, Larry Newman proceeded to get the next two batters to pop up ending the threat.  Still Pro Med had erased a 7 run deficit in the b-7th.  A leadoff single for Sky & Sky was stranded at first, so Pro Med had their opportunity to pull out this most improbable victory.  After two quick outs, Chuck Grant helped his cause with a double.  Russell Dlin was given a free pass placing the pressure squarely on Shilo Merwitz to deliver.  He did just that singling home Grant form second base with the winning run.  The final was 9-8 in 8 innings.   Chuck Grant got the win and Larry Newman absorbed the hard luck loss.  Hitting stars for Pro Med were Russell Dlin who went 1-2, but reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances.  Alan Varhaftik went 2-2 plus a walk, and Mike Merrick went 2-3 including that huge triple in the 7th to knot the game at 8 runs a piece.  For Sky & Sky Scott Felton led the way going 3-4(HR, 2 2B).  Brian Kowitz and Brian Sky each went two for three with a walk.

Game 2
Sky & Sky Inc  14  Pro Med  5 (stopped after 5 Innings/ Rain)
Game 2 was a rain shortened affair which ended after 4 1/2 innings.  A Scott Felton double pushed one across and Andy Bloom cleaned up behind him singling home two more in the b-1st for Sky & Sky.  In Sky's second inning, a leadoff double by Stuart Rudo allowed Larry Newman to aid his own cause with a SF.  Pro Med came battling back for three of their own in the second.  Brian "Sky" Mekiliesky hit a solo blast to lead off the third, only to watch his feat topped by a two run shot to RF off the bat of Pro Med's Alan Varhaftik, which tied the game after three and a half innings. Pro Med started off hot and then fell apart with a 9 run fiasco in the bottom of the 4th. Larry Newman again decided to take matters into his own hands singling home two with the bases juiced.  Aric Spitulnik doubled home one and David Kowitz doubled in a pair.  Brian Kowitz knocked his brother in, and Scott Felton added one to his RBI total.  Two more runs were pushed across as the steady drizzle picked up.  Sensing that the game was in hand, but not an official game yet, the ump decided to allow Pro Med one last crack in the t-5th.  They did manage one run, but the rain sent fans and players alike running for cover under the trees.  The final score was Sky & Sky 14  Pro Med 6 as Larry Newman earned his second victory on the day.  Darron Tabatznik was saddled with the loss.  Hitting stars for Sky & Sky were Aric Spitulnik(1-1,2B,2 BB), Brian Mekiliesky(2-2,HR,IB,BB), Scott Felton doubled twice and knocked in two and Larry Newman pulled double duty with the bat knocking in 3 runs.  For Pro Med, great performances were turned in by Ken Salzman, Shilo Merwitz, Russ Dlin and Alan Varhaftik who remains very hot.
