Sky & Sky Inc.  vs  Havana Club Cannons
Game 1
Cannons 9  Sky & Sky 4
The Cannons met Sky & Sky on field four with both teams just looking to maintain their respective playoff slotting.  The Cannons edged out to a lead in the first as Dan Kassel singled and later came around to score on an error by the Sky & Sky infield.  A leadoff error in the second opened the door for three more Cannon runs.  Rob Isonnock doubled down the LF line to score one.  Then the two most experienced Cannons players, Tom Paulshock and Gerry Edelman, delivered back to back singles to knock in two more.  On the other side of the ball Paulshock breezed through the first 12 Sky & Sky batters not allowing a hit.  In the fourth Steve Henneman singled one home for The Cannons, and Coach Edelman followed later in the inning with another RBI single.  Sky & Sky did manage to get on the board in the home half of the fourth as Brian "Sky" Mekiliesky singled home a run.  In the fifth Jeff Kurland tripled and was driven in on a SF, to make the score 7-1 after 5.  Two errors allowed The Cannons to add another one in the sixth on Steve Henneman's single, but that's when Sky & Sky batters seemed to spark up.  Two walks and a single loaded the bases before Andy Bloom tripled home all three runners.  Unfortunately for Sky & Sky the comeback ended there.  The meat of The Cannon's order added two insurance runs in the 7th with Jim Peterson's single doing the damage.  Final score 10-4 with Tom Paulshock getting a well deserved complete game win and Larry Newman taking the loss.  The Cannons attack featured Jeff Kurland(3-4,3B,2 1B,2 runs), Jeff Robbins(2-4,2B,1B,2 runs) Steve Henneman(3-4,2RBI,2runs) and Tom Paulshock who combined with Gerry Edelman to go 4-6 with 3 RBI.  For Sky & Sky Andy Bloom played big going 2-3(3B,2B,3RBI) and scored Sky's lone remaining run.

Game 2
Cannons 10  Sky & Sky 9 (9 Innings)
Game 2 was a seasaw battle for the ages with four different ties and two lead changes.  Paulshock started again through the Sky & Sky line-up allowing only 1 hit through the first 12 batters.  But circumstances were favoring Sky's chances.  The Cannons lost Jim Peterson who had something more important than this softball game, and Johnny Edleman slipped rounding first base to dislocate his thumb. Everytime Peterson's spot in the line-up came around there was an automatic out. That happened three times. The Cannons opened up with four in the bottom of inning one. Jeff Kurland singled. Johnny Edelman doubled. Jim Peterson doubled. Jeff Robbins tripled. Neal Charkatz and Steve Henneman singled, for the four spot. Sky took full advantage of the missing outfielder to close a 4-run deficit down to one run.  RBIs by  Andy Bloom, Alan Smith and Carl Goldsmith closed the gap.  Next inning Sky pushed ahead by adding three more as Scott Felton doubled with the bases loaded.  Controversy erupted as Joel Wax apparently singled him home, but the slide into the catcher was ruled intentional and he was called out for not avoiding contact.  Wayne Resnick singled home Eric Gertner after he doubled but was later thrown out at home trying to sneak by on an overthrow at first.  The Cannons tied it up on an error in their half of the 6th.  A Scott Felton blast to deep RF put Sky & Sky ahead going into the bottom of the 7th.  The Cannons tied it up so the game went into extra innings.  Both teams went quietly in the eighth before Carl Goldsmith went tree hunting with his leadoff triple.  Eric Gertner doubled him home but was stranded at third which played a big role for The Cannons.  They pushed two across in the ninth to win the game as Tom Paulshock got a clutch single to CF. Neal Charkatz' two out double was the rally starter. For the Cannons, Neal went 3 for four for the game. Jeff Robbins also had three hits including a triple, and Jeff Kurland was four for four and a walk. Hitting stars for Sky & Sky included Scott Felton who missed the cycle, needing only a single and added 4 RBI's,Joel Wax and Alan Friedman were both 3 for 3 with a walk, and Eric Gertner had two doubles and an RBI.
