Game 1
The Schaefer & Strohminger team showed up at 8:50 A.M. and began to lay down the bases at 9:05 without having a tape measure or pitching rubber. LPI started the scoring in t-1st inning by slapping back-to-back doubles from Marc Summerfield and Jeff Sacks (scoring 1-0). LPI added 4 more runs on consecutive bats of: Eric Ruby (single), Gabe Silber (3triple), Bob Hanson & Johnny Feldman (doubles) and Larry Proper (single), scoring (5-0). S&S sobered up and started hitting in the 3rd inning by scoring 4 runs (scoring 5-4). In the 3rd & 4th inning, LPI received the big goose egg and S&S scored in the 4th, 1 unearned run, ending the scoring 5-5. The blowout came in the 5th inning whereby LPI (as it does every year) blasted 9 runs off of Mark Yokel. Rosenberg singled, Proper walked, Bloom doubled, Summerfield homered, Shifrin singled, Ruby singled, Silber homered, Feldman singled and Rosenberg singled again. S&S was scoreless at 14-5. In the 6th inning LPI added 2 more runs, but S&S made the game close, by scoring 5 unearned runs in the 6th and in the 7th inning "earned" 3 more runs. The game ended 16-3 with Yokel being the last out and the losing pitcher. Hitting stars for LPI: Summerfield (1b, 2b, HR); Sacks (2-2b), Silber (3b, HR); Oliner (1st HR in 10 years!) and was the winning pitcher.

Game 2
Vintage Ellis 4-hitter was shaken, not stirred in the 1st inning. S&S shocked LPI with a triple, and 2 HR's all back-to-back and LPI scored a run (score 3-1). S&S was scoreless the rest of the game with only 1-walk in the 3rd inning and 1-single in the sixth! It was deja-vu all over again for S&S pitcher Yokel; batting practice was at its best as LPI added 5 runs in the 4th and 5 more runs in the 6th. Hitting stars for this game were: Summerfield (1b, 2- 2b); Sacks (2- 1b, 2b); Shifrin (3-walks).
