All Games at Randallstown High School

Sky & Sky Incorporated  vs  Palmgard
Game 1
Palmgard came out swinging with Mike Woods getting an RBI double and Jim Davis knocking him home with a two-run blast. Jumping to the t-3rd, David Kowitz helped the cause with a two-run blast of his own. Palmgard remained ahead by one run until the t-5th when David Kowitz scored on a Brian Kowitz single. But not for long, as Palmgard exploded for nine in b-5th. The big hits were a Tony Viglucci three-run blast and a Jim Davis three-run blast. There was some controversy on the first big shot as the ground jarred the ball loose from the leftfielder's glove as he fell backwards. The final shot came off the bat of Greg Manara with his two-run homer. In b-6th Tony Viglucci ended the game with a blast over the outfielder's head for a 3-run HR. Palmgard had 5 home runs in game 1 resulting in 11 of the 15 runs.

The winning pitcher was Mike Johnson; the losing pitcher was Marc Leibovitz with a final score of 13-3. Hitting stars for Palmgard included Tony Viglucci (3-4, 3R, 2HR, 6RBI), Jim Davis (2-3, 2R, 2HR, 5RBI), Joe Cohan (2-3, 2R). Sky's big bats were David Kowitz (two for three) with a homerun and double and Brian Kowitz (three for three) with a double.


Game 2
Sky & Sky tried to obtain a split in game two and jumped out to an early lead with three runs off the bats of Brian Kowitz, Andy Bloom, and Brian "Sky" Mekiliesky. Sky & Sky erupted for four more runs in the third inning. Scott Felton hit a shot over the rightfielder's head to knock in David Kowitz. Brian Sky knocked a runner in with a double and Alan Smith followed with a SF. Brian Kowitz drew the outfield in with a swinging strike before cranking the ball over the rightfielder's head to finish out the scoring for S & S. Palmgard was down but not out. They erupted for four runs in the sixth inning in "classic fashion." Singles, doubles, and walks with Keith Davis providing a big, two-run single. In the top of the seventh an error led to two runs with Robbie Bark singling in one runner and Mike Woods knocking in another. Eric Humes popped up meekly to stymie any chance of a Palmgard comeback.

Larry Newman got the win and Richard Berger took the loss in the 8-6 contest. Hitting stars for Sky & Sky were Brian Kowitz (two for three) with two RBI's, Andy Bloom (two for three), and Brian Sky (two for three) with a double and an RBI. Palmgard used up all of it's 3-run home runs in the first game and managed only 1 extra base hit off of Larry Newman in game 2. Palmgard's heavy-hitters were Jeff Webster (2-4, 2R), Rob Bark (3-4, 2B, R, RBI), Jim Davis (2-4, R, RBI).


Rue Rue's Raiders  vs  Havana Club Cannons
Game 1
At Randallstown High School The Havana Club Cannons showed up with just enough players to survive game one against the Raiders. Trailing 4-2 after two innings Gerry Edelman and Tom Paulshock sparked a four run rally and a 6-4 Havana Club lead. With the score still 6-4 in the fifth, Jeff Robbins hit a three run homerun as the Cannons put up seven, as they won 13-4. Johnny Edelman and Michael Dubansky knocked in three and four runs respectively. Tom Paulshock had a complete game victory.

Game 2
With Richard Berger deciding to join Palmgard, Raiders were forced to start first-timer Grailen Archie.  Raiders defense turned 2 doubleplays. Mark Benjamin hit, what should have been a HR, but was called out for missing second base as he slipped on the loose gravel.



Legal Papers Inc.  vs  Pro Med
Game 1
Pro Med blew a 4 run lead in the 7th, but pulled the game out in 8 innings by a score of 18-14.. Pro Med got a solid pitching effort from Darron Tabatznik. Pro Med's Brad Rosenberg and Craig Dlin hit HR's.. Jeff Sacks homered for Legal Papers.

Game 2
Marty Ellis tossed a shutout as Legal Papers earned a split with a 12-0, 6 inning victory over Pro Med in game two.

Kings  vs  Attman's Deli
Game 1
Bruce Eisenberg allowed just 6 hits while walking 0 in leading Attman's to a 10-4 win over the Kings in the opener. Kings Lane Gordon took the mound for the first time since opening day, missing several starts due to rain, a bye week, and a forfeit week. Warren Scudder gave Attman's a 2-0 lead in b-1st with a 2-out 2-run double. Attman's extended lead to 6-0 in b-2nd on RBI hits by Fred Shapiro, Joe Vassallo, and Don Weinapple, with Detour Dave Sandler adding a SF. The score became 8-0 in b-3rd when Paul Bell hit a 2-out 2-run single up-the-middle on a low fastball. Kings made it 8-2 in t-4th. Jeff Slutzker hit a 2 out double and scored on Chris Ryder's(game 1-3,2 R,2 RBI) first HR of the season. Attman's coasted the rest of the way for the victory. Attman's hitting stars in game one were Don Weinapple(2-3,R,RBI), Lee Eidelberg(2-3,R), Warren Scudder(2-3,2b,R,2 RBI), Harry Schevker(2-3,2b,2 R), and Paul Bell(2-3,R,2 RBI).

Game 2
Attman's built early 5-0 lead after 2 1/2 innings, but Kings fought back and came away with an exciting 10-9 win to earn the split on the day. Kings starter Ted Winner suffered control problems early on, walking 6 batters in the first 2 innings. After 5 walks to start t-2nd, Attman's led at the time 3-0 and had the bases loaded with 0 out. Dave Sandler hit a SF to LCF scoring Brian Wolf and advancing the runners to second and third base. Winner was able to get Joe Vassallo to hit an infield pop-up and then retired Don Weinapple on a flyball. Warren Scudder led off the t-3rd with a triple to RF. Harry Schevker then plated Scudder with a SF, giving Attman's the 5-0 lead. Ted Winner started the Kings half of the inning with a bloop 2B. Still at second base with 2 outs, Winner scored on Rick Amernick's towering triple over the head of Harry Schevker in LF. Amernick scored when Marc Goldstein's ground ball could not be handled cleanly. Attman's extended lead to 6-2 in t-4th on Fred Shapiro's RBI single scoring Rob Ressin. In b-4th, Jason Green's monster 2-run HR brought the Kings back to 6-4 deficit. Attman's again came up with a 2-out RBI when Bruce Eisenberg singled home Don Weinapple. Entering the b-5th, the score was Attman's 7, Kings 4. Kings loaded the bases to open the b-5th on singles by Ted Winner, Alan Klawans, and Joel Gordon. One out later, Marc Goldstein's SF plated Winner and moved Klawans to third base. With 2 outs and trailing by 2 runs, Designated Hitter Mike Pusateri lofted a flyball to RF. The ball was dropped scoring Klawans and Gordon with the tie runs. Jeff Slutzker followed with a line single scoring Pusateri and giving the Kings an 8-7 lead. Kings extended their lead to 10-7 in b-6th. Todd Katz opened the inning with a 2B. Ernie Stephenson brought in Katz on an RBI double and scored on a Ted Winner RBI single. Attman's started the t-7th with a walk to Vassallo, a single by Weinapple, and an RBI single by Scudder. With runners on the corners and 0 outs, Schevker popped out to SS. Eisenberg hit a ground shot to Chris Ryder at thirdbase. Ryder knocked the ball down and threw to Joel Gordon at 2B to get a very close forceout call with 1 run scoring. With 2 outs and the tying run on 1B, Paul Bell lifted a flyball to deep LCF, but Todd Katz tracked it down for the final out.

Ted Winner helped his own cause in game two going 3-3 with 2 runs, 2B, RBI. Kings hitting stars on the day were Jeff Slutzker(4-6,R,RBI), Jason Green(3-6,R,3 RBI,HR), Joel Gordon(2-5,R). Attman's offensive heroes were Don Weinapple(4-6,3 R,RBI), Warren Scudder(4-7,2 R,3 RBI,2B,3B), Harry Schevker(3-6,2 R,2 RBI,2B), Paul Bell(3-6,2 R,2 RBI,2B), Fred Shapiro(2-4,1 R,3 RBI).
