Regular Season Concludes at Alternate Fields
The Bombers benefited from a Cannons doubleheader forfeit.. The 2 wins for the Bombers put pressure on AR Bodies going into Sunday action. The Bodies needed to sweep the Kings over at Randallstown High School to claim 2nd place. The Bodies fought hard, but fell short to the Kings 8-7 in the opener. AR Bodies came back to take the nightcap in a game that was inconsequential to the standings.

Meanwhile, over at Deer Park Middle School, the 5th-7th seedings were at stake. Sky swept the Stingers to hold onto a 5th place seed. NWC needed a sweep over LOFT to move into 6th place. Their game 1 went into extra innings, with LOFT coming out victorious 7-5. NWC came back in the 2nd game with a 6-5 win.

The match-ups are now in place for the 3 week Playoffs tournament beginning next Sunday at Northwest Regional Park.

Early submitted highlights from Sunday's action are posted here. Additional highlights will be posted once received.

University of Maryland Heart Center Makes Huge Donation
It is with great pleasure and appreciation that we announce that the University of Maryland Medical Center donated a portable defibrillator (known as an AED) to the Pikesville Men's Softball League. The AED, which can be a lifesaving tool when someone goes into cardiac arrest, will be available during all league games that take place during the season.

The full story is available here.

The History of the Pikesville Men's Softball League
Much work has been done during the off-season to update the league history page and to share some stories about our alumni. Check out the updated information here and also send along some of your recollections as the league will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2009.

2009 Bat Regulations for PMSL

PMSL allows only bats that fit a very strict description. All bats used in play must conform to the following:

Non- Composite barrel.
Non- Composite handle.
ASA 2004 or 2008 Approved

There has been confusion in the past on this topic, and the only thing allowed to be composite on a bat and used in PMSL is the grip, and ONLY the grip. All composite bats, composite-like, and “half and half” bats are ILLEGAL. All bat inquiries should be brought to Neal Charkatz ( ncharkatz@gggco.com ) directly. Bats that are illegal for game use may also not be used for batting practice.

This list is not exclusive, and if anyone has a bat that is new for 2010 and fits our descriptions and isn’t on our list, feel free to email it to me so I can add it.

E-mail Neal at ncharkatz@gggco.com at anytime so I can help determine if a bat is legal or not. If when you bring a bat to me at the fields, and I have any question if a bat is legal or not, I will not allow it for use that week until I can do research on it to see if it conforms.

Penalties for Illegal Bats:
If a bat is used that is illegal, the 1st offense is a fine to the offending player of $25, and also a $50 fine to the team. The fines are on a per at-bat basis. $25/$50 for every at-bat the bat is used. (an at-bat is determined by a 1 pitch minimum).

2nd offense in the same season by a team is a forfeiture of any game in which an illegal bat is used.
